Christian Sprenger Autographed Cap
After Sprengers speech, Coach David gave out an autographed cap by him and I was one of the lucky few to get one.
I’m sure there are many fans of Christian Sprenger out there so I decided to auction this cap online as I know that it would be able to benefit our sporting community. The auction for the cap can be found here: http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251542110518
All funds raised from this auction will be donated to the Special Olympics Aquatic Fund
Special Olympics Singapore
Special Olympics (SO) Singapore is a non profit organization which provides year round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic sports to children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
It is to give them continuous opportunities to develop physical fitness, courage, and experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families and other Special Olympic athletes in the community.
Special Olympics Aquatic Fund
The funds would provide people with intellectual disability with proper skills for them to be water safe and comfortable in the water.
What is Intellectual Disability?
Intellectual disability (ID) is a term used to describe a person with certain limitations in cognitive functioning and other skills, including communication and self-care. These limitations can cause a child to develop and learn more slowly or differently. Intellectual disability is the most common developmental disability. Examples include Down syndrome and Fragile X syndrome.
Special Olympics believes that people with intellectual disabilities can still learn, enjoy and benefit from participating in sports.
All funds will be donated to the Special Olympics Singapore
Funds raised from this auction would be donated to the Special Olympics Singapore.
I strongly feel that through this fundraising campaign, it would make a difference in their lives and more kids with ID would be encouraged to do sports and promote a healthy lifestyle.
How will the funds will be used?
The funds we raise in this auction help in covering some transportation cost and allow the kids to have meals after their swimming training sessions every Saturday at UWCSEA.
Why support us?
It has always been our goal to give back to the sporting community. And we believe that this would be a great start for all of us to contribute to a charitable cause.
As a swimmer myself, I always believe that everyone should be given an equal opportunity to do what they love, and through this funds they would be able to have more opportunities to train.
Imagine how happy the kids would be if they know that there is support for them? I’m sure they will be really grateful.
I hope that all of you will join us as we raise funds to show our support and encouragement to Special Olympics Singapore!
