Some updates for the SEA Games swimmers:
1) 1st Dec – 7th Dec in Phuket for a training camp
2) 8th Dec – 18th Dec for SEA Games in Myanmar.
Swimming would start on the 12th so please do support all of us on TV! 🙂
Your support would mean a lot to us as it would definitely motivate us to do Singapore proud!
On a side note, I’ve watched Invictus today and it thought me a few life lessons:
1) Forgiveness liberates the soul. It removes fear. That is why it is such a powerful weapon. – Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela went to jail for 27 years because he wanted equal rights for blacks. He became president when he was out of jail. Instead of avenging the whites for what they have done to him, he forgave them and looked at the bigger picture for the progression of equal rights in South Africa. He had all the authority to get revenge but he chose not to, that was what I find really honorable and respectable.
This has thought me forgiveness. To forgive your enemies, and forgive yourself. Take every setback as an opportunity to improve and life would be more enjoyable and less stressful that way.
With such respectable character, Nelson Mandela lead the South African team to victory in the Rugby World Cup in 1995.
2) I thank whatever gods may be. for my unconquerable soul. I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul. – Nelson Mandela
No struggles in life are impossible to conquer. Your fate lies in your own hands and anything is possible as long as you believe in yourself.
So every time you feel like giving up in your goals, just remember why you started them in the first place! That’s how I motivate myself to train all the time and this has really helped me throughout my swimming career.
Good luck to everyone and hope you all can achieve your goals 🙂
